The dedicated leader of Savings and Credit group
(VBSP News) In July 2020, Hoang Thi Bich, leader of Savings and Credit Group of Quy Xa village, Yen Binh commune, Huu Lung province (Lang Son), is honoured to receive a commendation of Minister and Chairman of Committee for Ethnic Affairs due to her dedication to implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW, dated November 22, 2014, on enhancing the Party’s leadership over credit for social policy beneficiaries, promulgated by Party Central Committee’s Secretariat. To have this honour, she has always committed to work, play as a concrete bridge between VBSP and poor household and other policy-based beneficiaries.

Bich shared that she had been a leader of the Savings and Credit group since 2015. She knew that many poor-households in her village do not have enough capital to invest in agriculture, although the condition of producing is beneficial. Hence, she actively propagandized preferential loans to the beneficiary of social welfare. As a leader, Bich checked, supervised, managed the loan capital strictly. Thus, there are many poor-households have a stable life and escape from poverty. While Bich was a newcomer, she also has a mistake in group activities. However, she is becoming better every day due to the training sessions of VBSP’s staff and the Woman Union.
With the difference in conditions of each household, Bich always encouraged them to take a suitable loan form VBSP and also guided to use it effectively. Up to now, the outstanding loan has reached 2,7 billion VNĐ with 54 borrowers, increases by 1,8 billion VNĐ and 14 borrowers, compared to 2014. Moreover, the percentage of the poor reduces from 60% in 2015 to 40% in 2020.
Bich’s dedication to work was a concrete bridge between VBSP and people in the village, which made her received the love and respect from people around. In addition, Hua Van Xe, who also lives in Quy Xa village, shares that Bich was helping him escape from poverty. Although he had more than 2 ha of farmland, He did not have enough money to invest. Thanks to Bich’s propaganda, he was borrowed money from VBSP to invest in farming. As a consequence, Xe has a stable life nowadays.
The members of her Savings and Credit group always pay interest on time. Furthermore, 100% of group members has opened saving deposits with at least 30.000 VND per month. Currently, the group deposits have reached up to 50 million VND.
The Vice Director of the VSPB in Huu Lung province, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong considers Bich is an active, dedicated leader. She always takes the initiative in working, which resulted in good performances. Overall, Bich is a typical example for other groups to follow.
