SUCCESSFUL STORY IN NAM DINH CITY, NAM DINH PROVINCE
I am Nguyen Thi Hoa, born in 1959, a member of the Credit and Savings Group No 2 leaded by Mr. Tran Van Lac and managed by the War Invalids Association.
8 years ago my family was in serious situation. I was a worker of the Thang Loi Knitwear Company and under the equitization process, I was forced to get retired. My husband Bui Vang Cong who was a volunteer soldier in the war has no income and is in bad health condition due to the war. Our children were at the school ages, our parents are old and in bad health condition.
My family was in the list of poor households in the district. Fortunately I became the member of a credit and savings group of the Women’s Union. I was selected by CSG to be in the list of eligible applicants and approved by VBSP for the loan of 4 million dongs. With the support from VBSP and WU, I bought a sewing-machine for clothes making. Our lives was improved and I repaid the loan on due time. In 2006 I applied for another loan of 10 million dongs. I used the money to develop the clothes making business and have created regular jobs for 6 women with the average income of 700,000-800,000 dongs per month.
Thanks to the concern of the mass organizations and particularly Nam Dinh branch of VBSP, our lives becomes better and our children can go to school. Our children now are the first-year and the second-year students of Hanoi University of Communication and Transport.
