SUCCESSFUL STORY IN BINH LUC DISTRICT, HA NAM PROVINCE

I have suffered from so many difficulties. My husband died of illness, our main monthly income from the rice growing and small-scale poultry raising values at 50,000 dongs and 100,000 dongs to cover daily expenses of three children and I. My two chil

In September 2007, the Government issued the decision on lending to disadvantaged students at universities, colleges, high schools and vocational schools. The decision reveals the humanity and the concern of the  Government to improve living standards of people and to take care of healthy, educated and skilled people who will be the key persons in the process of transformation, integration and development of the country in the future.

Our first child passed the entry exam of Thai Nguyen University in 2006 and the second child passed the entry exam of Hanoi University in 2007. We borrowed from the relatives and neighbors to cover the study expenses of the first child and we did not know whom we can borrow money for the second child study. While our family was in two minds to stop his study, we were informed about the lending to disadvantaged students by VBSP. Fortunately I am selected in the list of eligible borrowers and my application was submitted to VBSP for approval. We received the detailed introductions and support from the credit officers of the district transaction office to fulfill the simple procedures. We are eligible to borrow 8 million dongs per semester for two children.

The amount of 800,000 dongs per month is not enough to cover all study expenses but is very helpful support. Our children will do their best to successfully complete the training courses in the way to requite the concern and support of the Government, the mass organizations and VBSP. Our first child is acknowledged the excellent student of his university.
