Feasibility Study on Application of New Technology for Mobile Phone based Products and Services For Vietnam Bank for Social Policies
The purpose of the mobile banking project is to conduct a feasibility study to propose VBSP on policy decision and institutional changes to embark on of mobile money innovation in serving the different clients groups, particularly the poor, near-poor households, disadvantages students, micro enterprises and SMEs.
To conduct the feasibility study on the mobile money innovation, the project will focus on assessment of market need among VBSP’s existing customers for mobile money services of VBSP; Assessment of operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of providing mobile money services by VBSP and its readiness to launch this innovation; Researching the most applicable model(s) of technology and operational approaches together with respective financial projections; Increase awareness of VBSP staff, relevant VBSP’s governing agencies on the challenges, opportunities of mobile money innovation; and improve alliance within and outside VBSP for changes in regard to this mobile money embarkation.
The project will conduct quantitative and qualitative surveys (focused group discussion and individual interviews) in 25 provincial branches nationwide to collect and analyze information and data; interact with internal and external agencies that have been closely working on ICT based mobile banking solutions and get their views on VBSP’s mobile money plan.
