Disabled but not Unable
(CPV News) – He himself is a disabled person but not because of that he abandons the desire to dedicate and succeed. As founder and chief executive of the company (CEO) specializing in providing business process outsourcing, creating jobs for many other disabled people, Tran Manh Huy has made special impression while contacting with him.

VBPO Joint Stock Company-operating in providing business process outsourcing (BPO) related to the IT application, from the simple tasks such as data entry, document digitization, etc,. to the more complex ones such as accounting – financial services, customer care, graphics handling, etc,. BPO is a definition referred to using related services of professional providers outside instead of providing by their own in order to reduce cost and increase competition as well as focus on advantages of enterprise.
Choosing a rather new field in Vietnam at the time of the year 2010, VBPO is one of pioneering enterprises and becoming more professional in providing services on professional business. With the number of only 15 employees at the beginning of establishment, headquarters located in Danang city, after four years, VBPO’s network has spread across the country with about 200 employees reaching annual revenues of over 30 billion dong. Overcoming all initial difficulties in finding, mastering market and building trust with partners, so far, VBPO has affirmed its trademark in Japan, USA, New Zealand ... In Japan market , VBPO has more than 30 customers with annual revenues of more than USD 1.2 million; in USA, annual sale also reaches over USD 100.000, more than USD 80.000 in New Zealand, etc,. In the year 2015, VBPO continues to expand business to Singapore and Europe and grow stronger in the US market.
With such admirable achievements, but few people knows that the owner of VBPO dream, CEO Tran Manh Huy is a disable person. From birth, he was paralyzed, with him, going to school like many others at the same age is an insurmountable challenge. With incessantly efforts, he passed the exam into the Sciences and Computer Engineering of HCM City Polytechnic University with high score. Before becoming CEO of VBPO, he used to be a lecturer of HCM City Natural Sciences University, Director of US software PSV company, Director of Green Technology company. He was the first Vietnamese receiving IT quality certification in USA (in the year 2003). He also graduated master degree in Business Administration in USA and fluent in English and Japanese.
Sharing about his dream, Mr. Tran Manh Huy said: “From difficulties, failures that I myself have experienced, I am always inspired a determination, I must do something to help people with disabilities in Vietnam. That dream has created a vision and core values for the establishment of VBPO and also a motivation for the development of the company, creating a common goal that we call “VBPO dream”. That is: using information technology as a means to help people with disabilities have best working environment, where people really love working together”.
According to Tran Manh Huy, this work is suitable for people with disabilities, because work related to information technology is no need to travel a lot as well as the movement of the muscles, which is consistent with the circumstances of people with disabilities, that IT will help "heal" the deficiencies of people with disabilities such as problems in travelling, moving; especially on education and degrees, because while joining IT, gap between the disabled and ordinary people will be narrow. "Working in VBPO make him realize nothing is impossible even when being more disadvantaged than others. Only need enough attempt, success will happen "- Tran Manh Huy shared.
It is support from capital resource of VBSP’s Danang branch has helped the company investing in facilities, equipments reaching standard configuration, network is upgraded, serving for business more efficiency. The company is also promoting training and recruiting disabled employees, improving business process and increasing productivity, raising turnover for the company; strengthening information safety and security, enabling the company to maintain its competitive advantage in the market. The fact that revenues of last six months in the year 2014 increases 78% compared with that of first 6 months, and also creating many more jobs, employment grow 41% compared with first 6 months, the total number of laborer as of December 31st 2014 at the headquarters in Danang is 65 persons, 19 of them are disable persons. The excellent result of the company has been recorded by authorities, people. In the year 2014, VBPO has been awarded by Danang Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on achievements in activities supporting employment for disabilities and in the same year, the company has been honored “Typical Enterprise” of the city in the year 2014.
Sharing about support from VBSP’s project, Mr. Tran Manh Huy said: “Capital resource from VBSP has helped the company to implement the project Center for human resource development – a project is nourished by the company’s board of managers from first days of establishment for the aim of training and developing VBPO’s human resource in particular as well as other enterprises in central region in general.
CEO Tran Manh Huy commits: “We shall continue to make all efforts for this plan in order to help disable people in not only training skills, professional knowledge, foreign languages but also having chance to work, earning stable income and having opportunity for promotion, competitive environment, being confident to assert themselves and integrating into the community”.
