Help VBSP access to poor households
According to the Government Web Portal, the Prime Minister has issued the Decision of revising and supplementing some clauses of the Decision No. 579/QĐ-TTg dated May 6th 2009 on supporting the lending interest rate for VBSP's loans.
Accordingly, the VBSP's clients will be supported total interest rates. The loan term is maximally 24 months. The support of interest rate will be conducted for disbursed loans from May 1st 2009 to December 31st 2009.
According to the existing regulation, loans with normal interest rate of less than 4% shall be down to 0%, loans with interest rate of over 4% shall be assisted at 4%.
The Prime Minister also decided to allow State Bank of Vietnam to extract the package of VND 17 thousand billion for Ministry of Finance to provide subsidies for VBSP quarterly with a view to implementing interest rate assistance as stipulated by the new regulation.
