Press Release: In 2016, VBSP continues providing loans for poor ethnic minority households
The office of Government has just issued Announcement No. 1423/VPCP-KTTH on supplementing target borrowers and extending the loan disbursement period according to Decision No.54/2012/QĐ-TTg, Decision No.29/QĐ-TTg and Decision No.755/QĐ-TTg promulgated by the Prime Minister.
VBSP extends loans for poor households for their business and production
Whereby, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh approved VBSP to continue to disburse loan resources from the state budget in order to implement the Premier’s Decision No.54/2012/QĐ-TTg dated 4th December 2012 on lending to extremely disadvantaged ethnic minority households for production development in 2012-2015, Decision No.29/2013/QĐ-TTg dated 20th May 2013 on land support and job creation for poor ethnic minority households in Dragon River Delta in 2013-2015 and Decision No.755/QĐ-TTg dated 20th May 2013 on housing land, production land and clean water support for poor ethnic minority households and poor households in extremely disadvantaged areas. The disbursement amount for 2016 is VND 1,213 billion.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh requested VBSP to carry on lending to extremely disadvantaged ethnic minority households under Decision No.54 and not to supplement more beneficiaries for this credit program.
In 2011 - 2015, the credit source for three credit programs under Decision No.54, Decision No.29 and Decision No.755 mainly stemmed from the State budget. Nevertheless, VBSP received funding on 31th August 2015 while the validity period of three above decisions is as of the end of 2015. Thus, the local government had not got enough time to review targeted beneficiaries which causing delay in the VBSP’s disbursement.
