Press Release
Overcoming difficulties to escape from poverty
(VBSP News) Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh is a typical example of women doing good economic work among members of the Women's Union of Tho Son hamlet, Tho Hop commune, Quy Hop district (Nghe An). Honestly, start-up is often difficult at first, especially for a single woman. That is why accessing loans from VBSP is like a ray of hope to change her life as well as others women in the village.
The integrated husbandry model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh's family has been effective
In 2015, Ms. Thanh got a loan of VND 50 million from VBSP’s poor households program for economic development. Her family has boldly invested in buying 3 breeding cows. With her tolerance, hard work, and eagerness for learnning, she signed up for training courses on basic knowledge on livestock production. Thanks to that, after only 3 years, Ms. Thanh's cows gave birth to 5 cows. She raised for a while and sold 4 children, earning more than VND 100 million. With the profit from raising cows, she continued to invest in raising pigs, chickens and investing in goat farming. After 5 years of investing in diversified models of raising cows, pigs, chickens and goats with loans from VBSP, Ms. Thanh's family has maximized the effectiveness of the loans, and until now, Ms. Thanh has fully paid off the loan to VBSP and escaped from poverty.
Currently, her family's integrated husbandry model has 7 cows, more than 60 goats, more than 400 chickens and 39 pigs. The income from breeding brings her family over VND 100 million/year. Now she has built a spacious house with full amenities and become one of the typical households on economic development in the commune from the VBSP’s loan.
Not only doing good business, Ms. Thanh also mobilizes group members to build effective economic models, helps them with financial difficulties to develop a legitimate livestock model and get rich. She always actively participates in activities organized by the Women's Union. She deserves to be an example for many women, especially women with difficult circumstances and single women in the mountainous district of Quy Hop - in the western part of Nghe An.
