Online training conference on lending employers to pay salaries for their employees
(VBSP News) On April 28, 2020, VBSP organized a national online training conference with participants from Headquarter, branches of provinces and cities about lending employers to pay salaries for their employees according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 15/2020/QD-TTg of April 24, 2020. VBSP General Director – Mr. Duong Quyet Thang attended and chaired the conference.

At the conference, the General Director – Mr. Duong Quyet Thang said: “In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, VBSP actively established the COVID 19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee from the central to local level to ensure both prevention of the pandemic and completion of assigned tasks. This is shown by the growth of outstanding loans in the first quarter of 2020 with total lending turnover of VND 18,786 billion. By March 31, 2020, the total assets of VBSP reached VND 216,529 billion, an increase of VND 4,636 billion compared to 2019; total outstanding loans reached VND 211,052 billion with over 6.5 million active borrowers.
In particular, on April 24, 2020, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 15/202/QD-TTg on policies on assistance for people affected by COVID 19 pandemic. After that, the VBSP General Director issued guidance on lending employers to pay salaries for their employees who have stopped working due to the effects of the pandemic. Therefore, at the online conference, the General Director asked the participants to seriously discuss two main issues, which are the main tasks in the coming time and deploying lending employers to pay salaries for their employees.
Online conference at branches in provinces and cities
At the conference, the participants were also instructed in lending employers to pay salaries for their employees such as loan approval conditions, loan size, lending interest rate, loan term, lending process and loan application, etc. Besides, problems, difficulties and solutions are also discussed to improve the quality and efficiency of lending operations according to Decision No. 15/2020/QD-TTg.
At the end of the training conference, the General Director – Mr. Duong Quyet Thang asked the participants to carefully study the contents of Resolution No. 42 and Decision No. 15 of the Prime Minister on policies on assistance for people affected by COVID 19 pandemic and VBSP’s guidance on lending employers to pay salaries for their employees. Especially, it is necessary to do well the propaganda from the central to local level so that the authorities at all levels and businesses can understand the contents of the Resolution, Decision and the role of VBSP in lending.
Regarding the VBSP's tasks of second quarter 2020, the General Director asked the units in the whole system to effectively implement the plans and tasks set at the beginning of the year, complete credit growth according to the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, actively advise local authorities to transfer capital from the local budget to VBSP to provide loans to the poor and other last-mile populations and timely disburse loans for them. Moreover, it is necessary to pay attention to consolidate, improve credit quality; strengthen inspection, supervision; and launch emulation movements to encourage the employees and officers to complete political assigned duties.
