VBSP meeting with WB consultant team on forestry development


(VBSP News) VBSP has just met and worked with the World Bank consultancy team on forestry development.

VBSP meeting with World Bank consultancy team

Attending the meeting is Deputy General Director Nguyen Van Ly and some senior representatives of functional departments of VBSP Head office. Representing WB consultant team includes Mr. John Heath and Ms. Pallavi Sengupta as consultant leaders.
Mr. John Heath said at the meeting now WB is conducting assessment on effectiveness of forestry development project with community partipation. Therefore, the purpose of the meeting today is to evaluate the operation result of VBSP on the forestry development project over the past time; effectiveness and efficiency as well as project’s impact on socio-economy and eco-environment at project area.
Deputy General Director Nguyen Van Ly expressed sincere thanks to the consultancy team visiting and working with VBSP. He wished the team achieve fruitful business trip and necessary information on the forestry development result in VBSP. He emphasized the project has brought about dual impact on social security and environment protection in Vietnam.
After 10 years of forestry development funded by WB, VBSP disbursed VND 749.4 billion, contributing to greening empty land and bare hills with a forest area of 77,000 hectare.
