Preferential credit supports for the poverty reduction program
(VBSP News) Over the past 20 years, the branch of VBSP in Ha Giang province has cooperated with local authorities at all levels to actively propagate guidelines and policies of the Party and Government on social policy credit; timely transferred preferential loans to the right beneficiaries.
In addition, the VBSP branch regularly consolidates, improves credit quality; supervises the review of borrowers; inspect, supervise and guide borrowers to use loans effectively, etc. As a result, credit quality is improved, people's living standards are gradually improved, significantly contributing to the realization of poverty reduction goals, job creation, new rural construction, and social security assurance in the locality.
Total outstanding loans of 18 credit programs of the branch after 20 years reached nearly VND 11 trillion. In which, lending to poor households is VND 4,379 billion with 268,682 borrowers; lending to near-poor households is VND 1,018 billion with 26,274 turns of households borrowing capital; lending to disadvantaged ethnic minority households is nearly VND 313 billion with 16,748 turns of households borrowing capital.

Many members of the Pa Then Women's Brocade Weaving Cooperative in Tan Bac Commune, Quang Binh District have been granted preferential loans to do cloth weaving, contributing to preserving the traditional craft.
With high mountainous terrain and difficult cultivation, people in difficult areas in Ha Giang need a lot of support from preferential loans
