Loans find its fastest root to the poor
(VBSP News) Nearly 11 thousand commune transaction points out of a total of 11,162 communes, wards and towns over the country, operating under a one-stop mechanism; nearly 190 Savings and Credit groups established and operating in villages, hamlets, villages have shortened the route of preferential credit flow to the poor and policy beneficiaries; helping them with a chance to change their life.
VBSP carries out transactions with the poor in nearly 11,000 commune transaction points nationwide
Benefits of One - stop -solution mechanism
It’s nearly 3 pm, final stage of a regular trading session in Pu Xi commune - the extremely difficult commune of Tuan Giao district (Dien Bien) just ended. At this time, 3 staff of VBSP's transaction team had lunch - bread or sticky rice and mineral water!
During 7 hours of continuous work, 3 credit officers of VBSP Tuan Giao district have to carry out a large amount of work from loan payment, debt collection, interest collection, trust fee payment, mobilize savings deposits to procedures of overdue det and debt at risks handling and share experiences, encourage and give feedback to requests of borrowers ... All were smooth, mature and error-free. ! All are packed in one door: Commune transaction point!
When being asked if these credit officers worked well, and if he pleased with their services, Mr. Giang A Sung in Pú Xi 2 village, Pu Xi commune did not hesitate to say: “The staff are very enthusiastic, kind - hearted. They come and lend us money to buy buffaloes and tell us how to raise buffaloes to grow quickly without getting sick ... so we are eager that they come, they are as our relatives! ”.
Talking about the commune transaction activities, the Chairman of Pu Xi Commune People's Committee, Thao A Tu said, since VBSP Tuan Giao district implemented transactions in the commune, it has saved costs and travel time for the poor. After the transaction is completed, the bank staffs will publicize the results, through which people will know which households are entitled to a new loan and in what program; households who have paid off their debts; the amount of interest that each household must pay next month ... "If there is no VBSP loan with simple and convenient procedures, it is unknown if poor households in the commune will ever escape poverty. In particular, this mode of transaction is very beneficial for households who cannot read and write; because they can rely on both the credit officer or the leader of their Savings and Credit group to help them, ”said Mr. Thao A Tu.
Performing over 85% of the total transaction value
Through the network of commune transaction points and activities of VBSP's transaction team, over 85% of the total transaction value of VBSP with the poor and policy beneficiaries is implemented conveniently in communes. Total outstanding loans of VBSP so far of reached over VND 194 trillion, with more than 6.7 million households borrowing. Through this activity, VBSP also provides savings services for poor households and other policy beneficiaries, which are convenient for local residents.
Witness a lot of transaction sessions in communes and wards of VBSP, what we respect for VBSP staff is their toughness. The borrowers, each with a situation, each with a personality, each with a level of awareness ... in order to transfer preferential capital to borrowers in a fastest and most effective way, each credit officer and each mass organizations’ staff must concurrently hold many roles: Accountant, treasurer, communicator, treasures etc. and encourage ethnic minority households in remote areas. However, very few of them quit their jobs. "Because every time receiving a notice of household A, or B, or C who just come out of the list of poor households, we feel energetic again," said Deputy Director of VBSP Tuan Giao district, Tong Huu Yen.
Perhaps, this explains why Commune Transaction Points are highly appreciated by Congressman: "Organizing transactions at communes have created a friendly and responsible service system, saving transaction and traveling cost for people. The model of Savings and Credit groups effectively support credit channeling to the poor.”
