Over the past time, VBSP Quang Ninh branch has effectively implemented policy credit programs to promptly meet the capital needs of people to develop production.
Ms. Vu Thi Lan (in Dong Y village, Viet Dan commune, Dong Trieu town) harvests Dien grapefruit
In 2022, through the Savings and Credit Group of the Women's Union of Viet Dan Commune, Dong Trieu Town, Ms. Vu Thi Lan (Dong Y Village) was disbursed VND100 million from the job creation loan program of VBSP Dong Trieu Town. With this money, Ms. Lan renovated and expanded the garden of Dien grapefruit. Recently, there are 1,000 trees of Dien grapefruit in her garden. Dien grapefruit is suitable for the soil conditions there so it produces good quality fruit with a strong sweet taste, bringing a stable income for her family with an average income of VND 300 – 400 million each year, creating jobs for some labors in the locality.
Mr. Pham Duc Song (in Dong Do village, Binh Khe commune, Dong Trieu town) shared: To develop production, people always need capital. Because they do not have collateral, agricultural production is risky, and their qualifications are limited, they encounter many obstacles when accessing loans from commercial banks. Therefore, policy credit with preferential interest rates, simple procedures, and diverse programs is considered a lifeline for them to develop production, create jobs, and increase income. Currently, the ornamental garden with over 400 kumquat trees and 100 peach trees each year has given Mr. Song’s family an income of VND 200 - 300 million.
From policy credit capital, people in Dong Trieu town have truly promoted their ownership role in implementing economic models. Thereby, people's lives have been significantly improved, many commodity production models have been formed, and the rural appearance has been renewed. Currently, the average income in rural areas in the town reaches over VND 85 million/person/year, an increase of over 2.3 times compared to 2015.
In addition to favorable locations, VBSP Quang Ninh province also actively focuses on disbursement, and creates maximum conditions for people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, border areas, poor households, and near-poor households to access to policy credit programs.
Mr. Pham Nhat Tien in Village 1, Quang Long Commune, Hai Ha District said: "In 2022, through the Savings and Credit Group of the Commune Farmers' Association, I was disbursed VND 80 million by VBSP Hai Ha district. With borrowed money and savings, I invested in renovating 2 ponds into recreational fishing ponds, built a net house with the area of 2,500m² to grow vegetables, and redecorated the campus. My model not only provides vegetables but it also attracts a large number of tourists to visit. Therefore, my family’s income reaches VND 100 - 200 million each year and we get out of the list of the near-poor households in the village”.
In 2023, the provincial budget has entrusted an additional nearly VND 300 billion to implement loan programs of jobs creation, business in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, loans to poor households, near-poor households, etc.
Policy credit has invested in 100% of villages, hamlets and city in the province, helping many people in production, business development and income improvement. By 2023, the average income has reached over VND 73.34 million/person/year. Totally 246 poor households, accounting for 0.064% of total households in the province.
