Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) deploys its tasks in 2024
(VBSP News) On January 6, 2024, in Hanoi, VBSP organized an online conference to deploy tasks in 2024. Mr. Duong Quyet Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Bank for Social Policies, Member of the Board of Directors - General Director, chaired the Conference. The conference was deployed online to all meeting points of VBSP at all levels.

The General Director spoke at the Conference: In 2023, VBSP proactively followed the Government's Resolution; Directive of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Resolution of the Board of Directors of VBSP to focus on comprehensively directing all aspects of operations, promptly disbursing loans to meet the capital needs for production and business of poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries, especially timely disbursing to borrowers of assigned credit programs after over 1 month of implementing Resolution No. 181/NQ-CP dated November 2, 2023 of the Government.

By December 31, 2023, total policy credit capital has reached over VND 346 trillion, an increase of more than VND 49 trillion (+17%) compared to 2022; in which, entrusted capital from the local budget reached VND 39,174 billion, an increase of VND 8,573 billion compared to 2022. Some branches have had an absolute increase in entrusted capital, such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, etc.

In 2023, the total loan turnover of the entire system reached VND 108,044 billion with more than 2.2 million poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries receiving loans. By December 31, 2023, the total outstanding loans have reached nearly VND 332 trillion with more than 6.8 million active borrowers.
Completing 100% of the loan plan for socio-economic recovery and development
By the end of 2023, outstanding loans under Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government on the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program have reached VND 38,400 billion with 615.6 thousand customers receiving loans, reaching 100% of the assigned plan in 2022 and 2023.
VBSP disbursed a total of VND 158,994 billion from policy credit programs with supported interest rate of 2% to more than 3.3 million customers; supporting interest rate with the total amount of VND 2,995.2 billion for the period 2022 - 2023.
During the year, social policy credit supported production and business; created jobs for over 790 thousand workers, including nearly 8.6 thousand workers working abroad for a limited time and over 2,000 people completing their prison sentences have jobs; helped nearly 97,000 disadvantaged students in schooling; disbursed loans to more than 4,000 households to buy computers and online learning equipment; built over 1,435 thousand works of rural safe water and sanitation; built 1,383 houses for poor households to stabilize their lives, more than 15,000 social houses for low-income groups, etc, contributing to stabilizing and developing the economy, ensuring social security, and successfully implementing the national target programs for sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The General Director emphasized that thanks to the deep attentions of the Party, National Assembly and Government leaders at all levels; supports from ministries, departments, branches, party committees and local authorities; the close direction of the Board of Directors and Executive Board; the close coordination of entrusted mass organizations along with the determination and responsibility of units in the system from the Head Office to provincial and city branches; VBSP had brilliant achievements.

Regarding the direction of operations in 2024, the General Director requested units throughout the system to continue advising the Government, ministries, departments, branches, party committees, and local authorities at all levels to well implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW and Decision No. 1630/QD-TTg and prioritize the additional local budget entrusted to VBSP to lend the poor and other policy beneficiaries and contribute to effective implementation of National Target Programs. At the same time, all units continue to well implement the tasks and solutions in the Development Strategy until 2030.
VBSP also focuses on implementing the plan of credit growth in 2024 as soon as assigned by the Prime Minister. Besides, VBSP also constantly improves the quality of policy credit, synchronously implement solutions to improve credit quality throughout the system.
Moreover, the General Director requested the entire system to implement digital transformation and key projects to provide financial products and services for all customers of VBSP.
Finally, the General Director requested the entire system to well carry out the work of communication on the Party and State's guidelines and policies on social policy credit as well as the role and operational efficiency of VBSP; promote emulation movements to strive to successfully complete assigned political tasks; actively respond to patriotic emulation movements launched by all levels and sectors; timely evaluate and reward officials with excellent achievements, especially grassroots officials, in order to motivate and encourage officials to enthusiastically compete and successfully complete assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the Emulation and Commendation Council of VBSP also announced the General Director's Commendation Decisions for collectives and individuals that excellently completed tasks in 2023 and launched emulation in 2024.
