VBSP donates nearly VND1.4 billion to flood-hit areas
(VBSP News) VBSP has sent delegations to promptly encourage and share with people in flood-hit areas in central provinces.
A VBSP delegation presented gifts to a household
Accordingly, the delegations donated VND1.2 billion to 6 provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.
Representatives of VBSP also visited, encouraged and shared the loss with 31 households sustaining damage due to floods and rains, and supported them with VND93 million.
In addition, VBSP’s trade union honored and dedicated VND65 million to the 13 officials and soldiers who were killed by a landslide during their rescue operation at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant in Thua Thien – Hue.
Since October 6, downpours brought by storms Linfa and Nangka caused record flooding and serious landslides on a wide scale in the central region.
Storm Molave, the ninth in Vietnam, swept through many localities in the central region, causing torrential downpours and strong winds on the night of October 27.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, after making landfall in the region from Da Nang city to Phu Yen province in the afternoon of October 28, the storm weakened into a tropical depression, delivering drenching rains and strong gusts to central localities.
