Since 2020, through the implementation of policy credit programs at the grassroots level, local units have identified the need for business of demobilized men returning from military service.

These young people have undergone training and development in discipline during their time in the military. Upon returning home, they continue to demonstrate strong work ethic and enthusiasm for production activities.

On May 28, 2024, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 74/2024/NQ-HĐND, which includes provisions for lending to youth who have completed military or public security service, using local budget capital. The goal is to provide preferential loans for ex-service men to start their businesses, improve their livelihoods, create jobs, ensure social security and stabilize their lives after service - contributing to the national target program on new rural development in the locality.

The Women’s Union of Hiep Tan Ward actively supports loan applicants

VBSP Hoa Thanh has coordinated with mass organizations and commune/ward People’s Committees to disburse VND 4 billion in loans to 59 demobilized men for production and business purposes.

In Hiep Tan Ward, Hoa Thanh Town, the local Women’s Union has worked closely with other associations to promote awareness among families whose children have returned from military service, helping them access local inclusive funds.

VBSP Hoa Thanh has also coordinated with the local authorities and mass organizations to screen eligible loan applicants and guide them through the application process, ensuring compliance with the policies.

Truong Quoc Bao, born in 2004 and residing in Hiep Hoa neighborhood, Hiep Tan Ward, was enlisted on February 8, 2023, and demobilized on January 15, 2025. After returning, Quoc Bao would like to get a stable job. Unluckily, he struggled many difficulties and could not get a stable job.

His mother, Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa (born in 1983), shared: “I learned about the loan support program for ex-service man from the local Women’s Union. With a loan of VND 30 million, our family bought equipment for my son to start a small business. Thanks to VBSP’s loan, our life has been improved and we now cover our daily expenses”.

Ms. Phan Nhi Linh - Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Hiep Tan Ward said: “This loan program for demobilized soldiers is a meaningful and practical initiative. It shows the support for those who have done their military service. It helps them stabilize their lives and improve their income”.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Director of VBSP Hoa Thanh, the unit will continue to closely follow the Party’s directives and the State’s policies on credit programs. VBSP Hoa Thanh will work with local authorities and mass organizations to ensure that loans are delivered to the right beneficiaries, making the best use of available funds. This effort will contribute to the effective implementation of national strategies on poverty reduction, new rural development, social security and local socio-economic growth.

Through effective implementation of post-military support policies, many demobilized men have found suitable jobs, stabilized their lives, improved their income and contributed to the overall social welfare of their communities.
