Model of growing Thai apples in association with tourism development
Effectively promote credit resources
Guiding visitors to over 10 gardens growing fruit trees, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (in Qui Thanh 2 area, Trung Kien ward, Thot Not district) said that she sold 2 batches of Thai apples with the price at the garden from VND 30,000 - 50,000 per kilogram. Ms. Hanh earned a profit of about VND 100 million. Thai apples are easy to care for, bear fruit quickly and are consumed stably by customers because of their crispness and sweetness.
Taking a loan of VND 80 million from VBSP Thot Not district, Ms. Hanh covered the apple garden with nets, bought irrigation machine and composted organic fertilizer. Ms. Hanh confided: "My sisters and I are piloting an eco-tourism model to welcome visitors and are initially successful. I am cultivating the garden to sell fruit in the next time and continue to expand the apple orchard".
Arranging a row of shelves to display dried fish products at OCOP Thot Not store in the food court and night market shopping area in Thot Not district, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuong - representative of the dried fish production facility said: In early 2024, the facility is arranged the place to display dried fish products and other associated products to serve the needs of customers. Mr. Phuong has 20 years of experience in raising fish. For about 6 years now, Mr. Phuong has been raising fish and opening a facility producing all kinds of dried fish. Happily introducing KOCANA instant dried fish products, which are ranked 4-star OCOP products, Mr. Phuong shared: "The facility was supported by VBSP with a loan of VND 100 million to buy equipment, raw materials and other production expenses. I am experimenting with processing a number of new products and actively participating in trading activities...".
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu - Director of VBSP Thot Not District said: From the beginning of 2024, the District People's Committee has transferred a budget of VND 2 billion to the district VBSP. To date, the district VBSP has received over VND 7.8 billion from the district budget to prioritize loans for models of economic development, tourism development and OCOP products. The entire district currently has 15 households taking loans with a total amount of VND 1.34 billion to expand production models such as: rice paper, dried fish; growing strawberries, rambutans, Thai apples...
Improve the policy credit quality
Currently, entrusted capital from city and district budgets reaches VND 610 billion, an increase of VND 86.5 billion compared to 2023; completing 133% of the target in 2024. Localities create conditions to build transaction office, equip computers for VBSP, arrange location and ensure security for monthly transaction activities.
In the coming time, the VBSP branch will continue to effectively deploy the Directive No. 40; at the same time, coordinating with entrusted mass organizations and relevant units to effectively integrate agricultural, industrial and fishery extension activities; encouraging borrowers to participate in models of linked production, helping borrowers use loans effectively, increase their income and improve their lives.
