Get out of poverty thanks to preferential policy credit
In recent years, the Women's Union at all levels of Thanh Son district (Phu Tho) has brought preferential loans to many women members for production and business, creating motivation for them to build economic models, improve their income and quality of life.

In 2019, Ms. Ha Thi Phuong (in Re 2 village, Van Mieu commune) started her business in fertilizer and animal feed. Her family did not have much money, so she only supplied mainly local livestock households with small scale. By the beginning of 2021, she was granted a loan from VBSP by the Women's Union of Van Mieu commune, and was disbursed VND 50 million to expand her production. The effective business has helped Ms. Phuong become a typical example of a local woman.
Another example, Ms. Ha Thi Nha lived in poverty for many years. Thanks to the efforts of all family members, in early 2022, Ms. Nha's family got out of poverty and received a loan of VND 50 million from VBSP to invest in buffalo breeding. She built barns and applied modern technique in livestock production. After a period of time, her family's buffalo herd grew and developed well. Ms. Nha shared, "If I didn't borrow money from VBSP, my family would not have money raise buffaloes. With this huge amount of money, my husband and I encouraged each other to try our best to take care of the buffalo herd, so we could gradually pay the debt to VBSP".
Ms. Ha Thi Hong Hai - Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Van Mieu commune, said: Timely credit sources from VBSP is a lever for many families to develop their economies. Many households use loans for the right purposes and build effective models of economic development. Therefore, many women have strived to get out of poverty
By the end of March 2024, the total outstanding debt of entrusted through Thanh Son District Women's Union reached over VND 166 billion with 3,168 households. In the coming time, VBSP Thanh Son district and the district Women's Union will continue to strengthen inspection of capital use by households and praise a number of advanced examples in overcoming difficulties to enrich themselves.
