Social policy credit helps people in Anh Son district get out of sustainable poverty

Recently, policy credit in Anh Son district (Nghe An) has been deployed promptly and effectively to the poor households and other policy beneficiaries, gradually affirming the role of policy credit in poverty reduction, job creation, new rural areas construction and social security.

Borrowers are regularly inspected by VBSP’s Officers with the effectiveness of using preferential credit

VBSP Anh Son District has been implementing 18 credit programs, including: Loans to poor households; loans to near-poor households; loans to post-poor households; loans to disadvantaged students; loans for job creation and a number of other loan programs. Total outstanding debt has reached more than VND 661 billion VND with more than 10,500 loan customers.

Many households in Anh Son district have been using effectively preferential loans in economic development, such as Mr. Vo Van Luc's family (in Dinh Thang village, Dinh Son commune), who is one of the households receiving loans with preferential interest rates. In 2022, Mr. Luc was approved by the district VBSP to take a loan of VND 100 million to buy cows for breeding and reproduction. To date, the herd has grown to 4 sows.

In 2020, Mr. Vuong Anh Dung's family (in Xuan Long village, Tho Son commune) received a loan of VND 100 million from VBSP to grow acacia and raise breeding cows. Up to now, his family has had a stable source of income. Mr. Dung shared: "Thanks to the loan from VBSP, my family can develop production and increase our income. I hope that in the coming time, VBSP will continue to pay more attention to local people so that they can access to preferential loans for their economic development and lives stability".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc - Deputy Director of VBSP Anh Son District said: The policy credit has supported tens of thousands of the poor, near-poor and post-poor households for production and business development, jobs creation and local people’s lives stability, significantly contributing to sustainable poverty reduction, new rural areas construction and social security in Anh Son district. VBSP Anh Son District will improve the quality of credit; at the same time, well propaganda to raise awareness, motivation and spirit of the poor households and other beneficiaries so that they can rise out of poverty, take more responsibility of using and repaying loans.

In the coming time, the District VBSP will continue to advise the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to well implement Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW; strengthen inspection; improve credit quality and operational quality of Savings and Credit groups to ensure that the right subjects receive loans and effectively use loans for the right purpose; improve the efficiency of transaction activities, including the application of information technology, creating favorable conditions for local people to access to preferential policy credit.
