Women have a stable life thanks to VBSP preferential loans
(VBSP News) The Woman Union of Tran Van Thoi district (Ca Mau) has implemented the loan supported by VBSP to its members in order to support women in using the loan effectively, increasing their income and reducing poverty.

The preferential capital of VBSP has created conditions for Ms. Doan Ngoc Tran in Tran Hoi commune to open a grocery store.
To ensure the loan from VBSP is brought to the right object and used effectively, the Woman Union of Tran Van Thoi district has well implemented the mandated tasks. Besides that, the Woman Union also propagates the government's policies of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction to its members. Particularly, the implementation of preferential credit policies for poor households and other policy beneficiaries support members to invest in business and production development and have a stable life, especially the female members.
Nowadays, The Woman Union manages more than 110 Savings and Credit Groups with total outstanding loans of 140 billion, which supported more than 7000 members. As a member of the Savings and Credit group, Nguyen Thi Hanh shares that her family was listed as an economic difficulty’s household. VBSP had lent VND 30 million to invest in farming 6 years ago. Thanks to that, her family has increased the income and improved their standard of living with the average income up to VND 100 million per year.
Not only supported poor households to borrow money, but the Woman Union of Tran Van Thoi district also encouraged members to start their own business by borrowing the policy credit. Doan Ngoc Tran at Tran Hoi village expresses that she wanted to start a business but didn't have enough money. After being propagated by the local Women's Union about the VBSP policies credit, she recognized the convenience of the procedure and registered to borrow 50 million VND in 2019. The loan is currently used to raise chickens, frogs, fish and open a grocery store. Currently, the grocery store and farming activities are developed well. Her current income is more stable with VND 5 million per month. She feels very thankful to the Woman Union and VBSP to support her to make ends meet and have a stable life.
The local Woman Union also motivates active members to do a micro-saving. Alongside with that, the Woman Union always controls, supervises and assists borrowers use the loan effectively, minimizes the overdue debts and makes sure the money is paid back on time.
The president of The Woman Union of Tran Van Thoi district, Phan Thu Huong conveys that activities related to supporting women to develop the economy and stabilize their lives through the policy credit of VBSP always receives attention and participation of all members of Saving and Credit Group. In general, loans are used efficiently. Thereby, it contributes positively to socio-economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and new rural development in the district.
