VBSP loans reaching to the coastal region in Vietnam
(VBSP News) Nearly 17 years of operation, VBSP Ninh Thuan has provided 15 inclusive financial programs, equal to VND 5,373 billion to more than 410 thousand customers. In present, the total outstanding loans of VBSP Ninh Thuan are VND 2,116 billion.
The loans from VBSP has helped more than 186 thousands laborers to have jobs; over 59 thousand disadvantaged students to study; more than 60 thousand clean water and sanitation facilities in rural areas and nearly 7,700 houses for poor households to build. The province's poverty rate is reduced to 8.34% in 2018.
Ms Thi Bet's family, Raglai ethnic group in Xom Bang village, Bac Son commune, Thuan Bac district (Ninh Thuan) borrowed VND 40 million from the poor household program to invest in raising sheep.
Ms. Bet's family is also raising cows to increase income
Ms. Thanh Thi Sau's household in Binh Nghia village, Bac Son commune, Thuan Bac district (Ninh Thuan) borrowed loan from the near-poor household program in 2016 to raise cows and goats.
Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Hang in Thai An village, Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, borrowed VND 40 million from the near-poor household program for planting grapes. Currently, the yield of the grapes is estimated at 3 tons and she has just transferred the garden for VND 35 million. The profit is about VND 20 million/crop with 3 harvests per year.
Huynh Thi Vien's family (on the right) in Thai An hamlet, Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district is a poor household without production land.So she was allowed to rent 3 acres of land to grow grapes. The loan of VND 40 million from VBSP has been invested to the grapes plantation.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa's family in My Tan 1 hamlet, Thanh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district is a near-poor household for many years. In January 2019, Mr. Hoa borrowed VND 50 million from the near-poor household program for aquaculture equipment
Mr. Hoa and his wife are fixing the fishing net for the next trip with other fishermen
In 2017, Mr. Hoa borrowed another loan of VND 6 million from the clean water and sanitation program for rural area to install clean water pipelines for families to use.
VBSP officer visited Mr. Pham Cang's family in My Tan 1 village, Thanh Hai commune – a VBSP customer borrowed money to raise sheep.
Thanks to the advices and support of the Savings and Credit group, Mr. Cang's family borrowed VND 40 million from VBSP’s near-poor household program to raise sheep. Until now, Cang's flock of sheep has more than 40 sheep, of which more than half are breeding sheep. With the current growth rate, every year, the sale of the breeding sheep earns more than VND 40 million.
