Prime Minister chairs conference on preferential credit policies

(VBSP News) PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over an video-teleconference of the Government to review the 15-year operation of preferential credit policies in Ha Noi on October 16th 2017.

The event drew the attendance of Deputy PMs Vuong Dinh Hue and Vu Duc Dam, and ministerial and local leaders. 

General Director of the Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) Duong Quyet Thang delivered a report on operation of the policies in the 2002-2017 period. Accordingly, they have helped 4.5 million  households to escape from poverty. Over 31.8 million poor households and social beneficiaries accessed  to preferential loans from the bank.

In addition, the policies also supported over 3.5 million students and learners to access to loans to cover their tuition fees. 

The VBSP has built special and effective organization models  and administrative methods in accordance with practical conditions in Viet Nam. 

Now, the bank has opened provincial-level branches in 63 provinces and cities with 631 transaction offices at district level and 11,000 POS at communal and remote island level.

Moreover, the bank's network has over 187,000 POS at hamlets and villages.
