Deputy Prime Minister visit VBSP's POS at commune level

(VBSP News) On the afternoon of August 18, the delegation of the Government led by Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of Politburo - Deputy Prime Minister had a working session with leaders of Hoa Binh province.

Reported to the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Quang said that the province's economic growth rate (GRDP) is estimated at 7.88% in the first 6 months and is expected to grow over 9% over the year.

In the first six months of this year, Hoa Binh had 189 registered enterprises with a total registered capital of VND2,000 billion, raising the number of private enterprises to 2,790 with  total registered capital of VND30,000 billion. It is expected that in 2017, 400 enterprises will register for new establishment.

In the first six months of 2017, Hoa Binh recognized 10 more communes reaching 19 new rural criteria, bringing the total number of new rural communes to 41 communes, and up to now, there are no communes with less than 5 criteria. With plans and solutions set in socio-economic development, Hoa Binh will reduce the poverty rate by 3% by the end of this year.

At the meeting, General Director of VBSP Duong Quyet Thang added that the total outstanding loans of 15 policy credit programs of the Government implemented by VBSP Hoa Binh province in the past 15 years reached nearly 2,600 billion VND copper; Overdue debt accounted for only 0.14% of total outstanding loans. Policy credit has helped many households to get more capital for economic development and job creation; At the same time, it creates a change in perception and way of doing business for local people.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visited VBSP's POS at Tu Son Commune.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said that Hoa Binh province has rich resources for industrial and tourism development which can attract many investment projects, creating the premise for development of Hoa Binh province.

However, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Hoa Binh province has a high rate of poor and near poor households compared to the national average; The competitiveness index is still limited, the rate of enterprises per capita is still low (about 315 people / enterprise); The shift of economic structure is in the right direction, but the agricultural sector still accounts for up to 70%.

Therefore, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue asked leaders of Hoa Binh province to resolve the economic, social and tourism development in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister for the locality. In particular, efforts should be made to fulfill the province’s economic and budgetary obligations in 2017 adhering to the Resolutions of the Central Government and action program.

Earlier of the day, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visited the production model at the Muong Dong Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative and a commune transaction point of VBSP in Tu Son commune, Kim Boi district.

Here, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue appreciated the model of commune transaction points of VBSP which bring services to the people in a friendly and responsible manner, saving transaction costs and travel cost for people.

Through the commune transaction point network, over VND 25 billion of policy credit loans has been channeled to 1,036 poor people and policy beneficiaries in Tu Son commune, accounting for nearly 62% of households in the commune, to develop economy, expand production and business. Thanks to the loans, at the end of 2016, 88 households in the commune have withdrawn from the poverty list.
