Evaluates the implementation of Covid-19 support loan to pay salaries for employees ceasing working and salaries during business recovery
(VBSP News) On August 17, 2021, the Board of Directors (BOD) of VBSP held a meeting to evaluate the implementation of Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP dated July 1, 2021 and Decision No. 23/2021/QĐ-TTg dated July 7, 2021 of the Prime Minister on providing regulations on the implementation of policies to support employees and employers hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attending the virtual conference were representatives of Vietnam Fatherland Front, Department of Labours, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam State Bank, the Office of the Government, entrusted socio-political organizations, representatives of leaders of People's Committees of provinces and cities and broads of representative committees of VBSP at the provincial level, etc.

Reviewing the results after 1 month of implementing loan support, the General Director - Mr Duong Quyet Thang stated that all 63 branches of VBSP in provinces and cities have actively approached and guided the employer to complete the loan application. In addition, the provinces and cities, which have been isolated by Directive No. 16 also received and guided the employer to complete the application through the National Public Service Portal.
Currently, VBSP has received 308 applications for loans from employers with a total amount of VND 174.6 billion to pay salaries for 50,175 employees. In which, approved loans for 276 employers with an amount of nearly VND 170.7 billion to pay salaries for 49,043 employees. As of August 17, there are 51 branches of VBSP have disbursed nearly 170 billion VND to pay wages for 48,737 employees.
Until now, Bac Giang province is the locality with the highest disbursement of VND 90.2 billion for 48 employers, which used to pay wages for 26,592 employees. The largest customer is Ha Bac Garment Export Joint Stock Company with a loan of VND16.3 billion to pay salaries for 4,762 employees.
The policy is timely to support businesses in difficult times, demonstrating the spirit of "Government accompanies businesses", Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Phan The Tuan assessed at the conference.
Accompanying with VBSP, on the very first day implementing this policy, Vietnam Fatherland Front has been directed to all levels in the unit to coordinate with other departments and agencies to actively participate in inspecting and supervising in order to publicity, transparency, strictly perform, avoid negative.
Speaking at the virtual conference, Deputy Minister of Labours, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Mr Le Van Thanh highly appreciated VBSP for quickly and actively implementing the credit to support employers and employees immediately after the Government and the Prime Minister promulgates the Resolution, Decision.
VBSP widely disseminates lending programs on mass media. Therefore, employers who have demand and qualifications are able to access quickly and conveniently. At the same time, the bank has promptly reflected fully and accurately the results for monitoring.
Speaking at local broadcasting points, many leaders of provinces and cities shared that due to the complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, many businesses ceased to work. Indeed, Resolution No.68 and Decision No.23 were issued as a "lifesaver" to help businesses and employees overcome difficulties.

At the conference, SBV Deputy Governor - Mr. Dao Minh Tu said that VBSP has taken drastic and responsible action to help people approach the policy fastest. The loan support to pay salaries for employees ceasing working and salaries during business recovery is very necessary during the complicated of the pandemic. Promoting and employing the policy as soon as possible will help businesses overcome difficulties. “The SBV always handles and provides the fastest capital so that VBSP can promptly disburse businesses,” affirmed the Deputy Governor. He also suggested that relevant agencies, the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations should continue to actively participate in supervision to ensure loans have been used for the right purposes in order to preserve the capital of the State. Moreover, it will contribute to overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, restoring socio-economic development in localities.
