VBSP offers over 800 billion in preferential loans
In 2011, the Da Nang branch of the Social Policy Bank provided 801 billion VND in preferential loans to poor people, students in difficult circumstances and other borrowers.
Poor families received preferential loans totaling 372 billion VND, poor students got 293.2 billion VND, farmers in difficult areas 11 billion VND, SMEs 8 billion VND, and ethnic minority people one billion VND. It also loaned a total of 200 billion VND to policy beneficiaries. In addition, the bank gave 76.709 billion VND for job creation programs, 540 million VND for labor exports and 37.5 billion VND for rural clean water supply and environmental hygiene.
