Online training the trainer on financial literacy application for customers
(VBSP News) On August 4, 2020, VBSP organized an online training course to deploy financial literacy application for the poor and other last-mile populations via mobile phone and some contents on messaging service for professional activities of VBSP. VBSP Deputy General Director – Mr. Hoang Minh Te cum Head of Project Management Unit of Mobile Banking and Oxfam attended and spoke.
Landscape of the online training course
At the training course, there were 1470 delegates in total, who are representatives from operational departments at Head Office, Transaction Center, Training Center, IT Center; representatives from Oxfam Vietnam, Teso - a technology consulting company and trainees at 63 VBSP branches in provinces and cities nationwide and 631 district transaction offcies.
With the aim to raise awareness for VBSP staff on financial literacy for the poor and other last-mile populations through the application on mobile phone to inform customers about credit programs, loan procedures, savings and payment services at VBSP, some typical examples and financial literacy for customers such as personal and household financial management knowledge, support for production and business, etc., contributing to improving financial knowledge, promoting efficiency of capital use, gradually getting acquainted with digital technology for customers in rural and remote areas. Financial literacy also helps the poor and other disadvantaged groups access and use VBSP's financial products and services, contributing to the development of the national strategy on financial inclusion, national goal programs on new rural construction, social security and sustainable poverty reduction.

Participating in the training course, the trainees will be instructed how to use the financial literacy application on mobile phone; some lessons on personal financial literacy; the purpose, content and usefulness of financial literacy application for the poor and other disadvantaged groups; implementation of some contents on messaging service for professional activities of VBSP; software program to collect customer phone number information; solutions to improve the efficiency of messaging services for VBSP customers.
Speaking at the training session, Deputy General Director – Mr. Hoang Minh Te said: “Facing the development trend of financial services, VBSP has identified that financial inclusion is an important development direction to achieve the goal of providing quality and convenient services to customers who are the poor, disadvantaged groups, and customers in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas. Over the past years, VBSP has taken necessary steps to enhance financial inclusion development in the bank's customer community in particular and in Vietnam in general, contributing to the successful implementation of the comprehensive national financial strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2030”.

The Deputy General Director asked the delegates to immediately deploy this application to mass organizations and leaders of savings and credit groups to continue deploying to group members, family members using smart phones. This is an important step towards providing VBSP services via a digital platform, helping VBSP's customers to catch up with the increasingly extensive implementation of e-Government and national public services.
