Prime Minister appoints SBV Governor as Chairperson of VBSP’s Board of Directors
(VBSP News) The Prime Minister has issued Decision No. 1989/QD-TTg appointing Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), to be Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP).

This position was previously held by Mr. Le Minh Hung, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and former SBV Governor, who has been re-assigned to take another position.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong was born in Hanoi. She used to hold different positions during her career, including Director General of the Monetary Policy Department and SBV Deputy Governor, and is currently SBV Governor.
Previously, on November 12, 2020, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved the request of the Prime Minister for the appointment of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong as SBV Governor.
On November 16, 2020, at the SBV headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc handed over the State President’s Appointment Decision to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong.
