Efficiency of Directive No. 40-CT/TW

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated November 22, 2014 and Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW dated June 10, 2021 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on "Strengthening leadership of the Party for social policy credit", social policy credit activities in Phu Loc district (Thua Thien Hue) have brought practical results.

People in Phu Loc district take loans from VBSP to do business and improve their lives

Mr. Tran Chot (in Giang Che village, Giang Hai commune) said: "Policy credit has created conditions for my family to raise ducks, fish and shrimp. In recent years, my family's economy has improved. Each year, the income is from VND 150 - 200 million, thereby having more money to support 5 children to study”. Mr. Mai Phu (in Dong Hai village, Loc Tri commune) shared: "My family has borrowed 4 times for a total of VND 130 million, and every time I pay it off, I borrow again to continue doing business. Thanks to that, I have enough capital to buy fishing gear. From this support, my family do business more easily and earn VND 400,000 - 500,000 every day".

Mr. Nguyen Huu - Chairman of Giang Hai Commune People's Committee said: The monthly transaction point of VBSP is located in the Commune People's Committee to create favorable conditions for local people to take loans and repay loans. The transaction point has full content and is publicized according to regulations. Tables, suggestion boxes, hotlines... are hung in easy-to-see places, it is convenient for customers to follow. The local government promptly directs the Commune Poverty Reduction Board and entrusted mass organizations to review loan borrowers, evaluate loans to the right beneficiaries and urge debt recovery to due, especially overdue debt.

Giang Hai commune has coordinated with VBSP to promptly convey policy credit to poor households and other policy beneficiaries. In 2023, VBSP Phu Loc district disbursed loans to 339 customers with a total amount of nearly VND 16 billion. By the end of February 2024, the total outstanding entrusted loans of VBSP in Giang Hai commune has been VND 29.3 billion through the Women's Union, Farmers' Union and Veterans' Association with no overdue debt or frozen debt, soon becoming new rural standards.

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Toan - Officer in charge of local credit in Phu Loc shared that local people make good use of policy credit sources. When they receive loans, they focus on improving their livelihoods. Almost every family's life improves when they use this capital effectively.

Although there are still many economic difficulties, every year, the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Phu Loc district have prioritized allocating local budget to transfer to the district VBSP to carry out loans to poor households and policy beneficiaries.

Mr. Le Thanh Binh - Director of VBSP Phu Loc district shared: Currently, social policy credit covers 17 communes and town. With the attention of Party committees at all levels, local authorities and the smooth coordination between VBSP and entrusted mass organizations, policy credit is closer to local people. Thanks to that, credit quality in the area is increasingly improving.
