Join hands to support people quickly stabilize their lives

In early October, natural disasters in many provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, and Lang Son continued to evolve in a complex manner. Tens of thousands of households were severely flooded, and the safety of the dyke system was seriously threatened. In that context, promoting the spirit of “mutual support and compassion” and “the healthy leaves protect the torn ones”, officers, trade union members and employees of VBSP have been actively joining hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and share difficulties with affected people in the disaster-hit areas.

In response to the Appeal of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, VBSP promptly launched a fundraising campaign, calling on each staff member across the system to contribute at least one day’s salary in support of people affected by storms and floods

Amid the severe damage caused by prolonged floods, following the direction of the Secretary of the Party Committee and the General Director of VBSP, the VBSP Trade Union promptly organized working delegations to the affected localities to visit, encourage, and deliver relief gifts to people facing hardships.

Although the value of the gifts from VBSP officers and employees was modest, they reflected the spirit of solidarity and compassion, standing side by side with local people to help them overcome the aftermath of natural disasters and regain stability in their lives.

In addition to social welfare support, to help borrowers overcome losses to preferential loan capital caused by natural disasters, VBSP branches in provinces and cities will coordinate with local authorities, mass organizations, and borrowers to promptly assess the damage caused by such disasters. Based on the level of damage to each loan, local VBSP offices will guide borrowers in preparing dossiers and submitting requests for risk debt treatment in accordance with regulations, while promptly facilitating additional loans for people to resume production immediately after storms and floods.
