In today's era, digital transformation is an inevitable societal trend, and VBSP is no exception in this digital shift. For VBSP, digital transformation is not merely a technological matter; more importantly, it is a gateway to safe and convenient financial services access for millions of the poor and the marginalized.
Starting in 2014, in its 10-year of the journey of creating opportunities for vulnerable groups to access comprehensive digital financial services, VBSP has had the valuable companionship of The Asia Foundation. Thanks to their practical resources, knowledge, and experience, VBSP has implemented successfully 05 programs and projects related to Mobile Banking, SMS services, digital financial education, digital safety, and more. As a result, millions of VBSP customers who are poor, women, and disadvantaged have gained access to modern banking services as well as training and knowledge on finance and digital skills. That expectedly help them to meet current requirements from the digital transformation process.
During the 2025 – 2027 stage, with a sponsorship fund of 6 billion VND from The Asia Foundation, VBSP has collaborated with the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to deploy a Digital Safety training component integrated into its Policy Credit Management Application and website. This initiative focuses on enhancing cybersecurity skills, preventing fraud, and protecting data for customers and VBSP staff in the digital space. In less than half a year of implementation, the online training program on “Digital Safety” has reached more than 75,000 customers. This stands as clear evidence of the joint efforts of both sides to protect people, especially vulnerable groups, against challenges and traps in the digital environment.
At the ceremony, on behalf of VBSP leadership, Deputy General Director Hoang Minh Te praised The Asia Foundation for its persistent, responsible, and humane contributions over the past ten years. He also reaffirmed the core values in VBSP’s operations and in its partnerships — sustainability, trustworthiness, and the mission to serve the poor and vulnerable groups. Sharing the mission to provide resources that help people safely and conveniently access to the comprehensive financial services in the wave of technological modernization, ensuring the humane mandate “leaving no one behind” from the Party and the State, Deputy General Director Hoang Minh Te expressed his belief that the cooperation journey between VBSP and The Asia Foundation will become increasingly deep, strong, and spread even more positive values in the future.
